Delete your HYB account
Last updated: October 2026
This page explains how to delete your account in the HYB app (Android and iOS) and on www.hybapp.org, both made by Hybrid Foundation, and what happens to your data when you do.
How to delete your account
- Open the HYB app, or go to www.hybapp.org in a web browser, and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Open Account. In the app, tap the round profile button at the top of the Home screen, or tap the More menu (three dots) and choose Account. On the website, click Account at the top of the page, or go to www.hybapp.org/account.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page, to the section called "Delete account".
- Tap "Delete my account".
- Type DELETE in the box to confirm, then tap "Permanently delete".
- You are signed out and your account is deleted straight away.
Can't sign in? Email [email protected] from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will process your deletion request and reply to confirm. We may ask you to confirm the request from that address before we act on it.
What is deleted
These are deleted permanently as soon as you delete your account:
- Your account and sign-in details: name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), sign-in methods and every signed-in session.
- Your profile and settings, including onboarding answers, notification and push preferences, and the devices and TVs linked to your account.
- Your learning history: lesson progress, quiz and exam attempts, certificates and points.
- Your community activity: channel posts, direct messages and conversations, reactions, photos you uploaded (the image files are deleted too), your community profile, friends, blocks and the reports you filed.
- Your event sign-ups, attendance records and calendar feed links.
- Your membership records in HYB, including the access grants tied to your account.
- Your partner account, if you had one, with its commission and payout records.
- Records of how you found HYB (visits and link clicks) that are tied to your account, and your entries in the advertising audience lists we keep on our own servers.
What is kept
- Payment records. A record of each payment (date, product, amount, and whether it was paid by card or through the App Store) stays in our accounting ledger, no longer linked to your account; your email is kept there only as a one-way hashed code. If a partner referred you, the partner's commission record stays the same way. These are kept for our financial and tax records.
- Records held by payment providers. Stripe, Apple and Whop keep their own records of your payments under their own privacy policies. We cancel a card (Stripe) subscription and a Whop membership automatically when you delete your account. We cannot cancel an App Store subscription for you: if you subscribed through the iOS app, cancel it yourself in Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions.
- Live class chat. Messages you sent in a live class chat stay in that class's chat history, no longer linked to your account.
- AI tutor questions. Questions you asked the AI tutor and its answers stay in our tutor log, which we use to check answer quality and prevent abuse, no longer linked to your account.
- Moderation and purchase logs. Reports other members filed about your posts, and the record that a purchase was delivered, stay, no longer linked to your account.
- Email lists. If you asked us to stop sending marketing email, your address stays on our do-not-email list so that deleting your account does not sign you back up. If you were a member of our previous platform, or were granted access by email before creating an account, that entry stays on the list it came from. A log of which announcement emails were sent to an address also stays.
- Email and CRM contact. When you signed up, your name and email address were added as a contact in our email and customer-management (CRM) system, and as a row in our signup spreadsheet. That contact also holds tags and fields about your membership, events, purchases, course progress and how you found HYB. Deleting your account does not remove either one. Our marketing emails include an unsubscribe link, and you can email [email protected] to ask us to remove your CRM contact as well.
- Data already sent to advertising platforms. Advertising events, and copies of audience lists, that we sent to advertising platforms (such as Meta) before you deleted your account stay with those platforms. We cannot recall them.
How long it is kept
The kept records above have no fixed deletion date. Our database backups are not edited after the fact, so data you deleted can remain in backup copies for as long as we keep those backups. We use backups only for disaster recovery.
